Holly cow its still number 1 and it still has more than 999 units, its either selling liek 3 units an hour and nothing else is selling at all or this shipment was beyond massive.

3 units an hour = 72 units a day = a lot for one retailer = massive shipment.

Those two options arent mutually exclusive to each other. Target got shipments too and sold out each day we got them. Stores in the area keep calling every other store because people come in looking for them when our system says we have them in stock because it updates daily but sell out early

72 Units a day for Amazon.com would be a lot?  I'm not saying that the PS4 actually sold 72 units a day, but IF it did, that would be absolutely disastrous.  Amazon is huge, and if they were only selling around 500 units a week that would be insanely bad.  Amazon isn't like a local store.  Amazon selling only 72 units a day would be akin to every Best Buy in the country selling 72 units a day combined.

Yeah that amount is just silly.  It's gotta be around a thousand per day, give or take.  An overly busy gamestop like one in Times Square gotta probably do 70 lol

I find that one hard to believe as well.  Having such a massive shipment after having none for quite some time doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me.  If Sony was holding back units, I'd imagine they'd have held onto them until Infamous or something.  Maybe they diverted them from Japan if demand was soft there, but even so it seems high.  I'd guess something like 500 a day maybe, but that's just my guess.  I don't really know that much about Amazon sales patterns.

Bottom line though is that people who want a PS4 can get one.  So, that's good.

I think having the console available for customers who aren't decided on their console choice or may be swaying toward PS4 during the Titanfall launch is really smart.  Don't want people getting caught up in the hype without your console to make them reconsider.  Maybe it is closer to 500, but Amazon is a massive site and I think enough people have forsaken brick and mortar stores for it to be possible.

But yeah, bottom line is people are gettng their PS4's.  Hopefully supply gets better soon with all launches completed.

Maybe, but I don't feel like Titanfall was really that big of a release that Sony would see as a huge threat.  It's a cross-gen release that's a new IP and isn't exactly groundbreaking as far as I could tell.  If Titanfall is a big thing for the XBox One, it will be because of word of mouth hype building.  Titanfall probably won't be a huge deal.  3-4 million units maybe.  But if the game is really exceptional, Titanfall 2 could be a huge system seller if it is exclusive.
