The idea "why Nintendo should care" is foolish. Nintendo would have known that it's 1st party titles were coming too slowly to support the Wii U in 2013, so they should have courted more 3rd parties and indies to help fill the void. Instead the system just rotted last year, pretty much beyond the point of no return already.
