You're probably right as the sales seem to tell that story. But then again, as that companion system get more and more affordable, it becomes an easier sell. I personally think the Wii U has some time to end it's life cycle respectable enough for what it is, but only time will tell. I've been happy with the purchase, but then again I will own all 3 systems eventually, just like last gen.
Oh and I agree that the older sytems do have impressive backlogs.
