According to a friend of mine who listens to IGN podcasts they were talking recently about how review embargoes are getting harsher so that all the sites are on the same footing. This means that IGN doesn't get to put out their review 3 days before everyone else, and review embargoes get later in hopes that the smaller sites can have their review ready as most of the smaller sites are not full time. This could be why some larger games like Titanfall have their embargo comparitively later to previous large releases, or simply that the online nature of the title makes early reviews difficult.
