The best thing to do if you want to avoid getting into bad posting habits, is if you feel someone is being a bit of a jerk in their replies to your posts, don't click reply. There is no winning when it comes to being a bigger asshole to someone, if you remember that you can be super awesome like me and have gone however many posts I have here without warning. Bit of respect for others goes a long way imo, even if you don't happen to agree with their point of view.
Also doing the above thing will stop bad posters from posting, if no one replies to someone who just wants to argue they'll leave. Can't argue with themselves... hopefully!
