Did went to university to study physics but quickly realized that it's not for me. Not the physics but the way you learn at universities. So I went into an apprenticeship for informatician. Pretty much the best choice I ever made in my education. That way I learned so much more and had hands on experience with pretty much everything concerning my new job as network administrator. I also used the chance to get some certificates like a CCNP Routing and Switching and CCNP Security which for me is better than any degree I could earn at university.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.
