| Madword said: I'm over generalising because i'm tired :) but I'm just trying to say that the comments about hype is dwindling and its all because of Titanfall, well its a little too early to state that when well PS4 has got to meet demand at some point and 2. It went straight in at No 1 above titanfall... etc etc. |
We're five days from Titanfall launch and the bundle is sitting at #14 on Amazon US. Yes, that is a limited window and indicator into demand, but still.
I can pick up an XB1 at just about any retail outlet that sells them today. It's an easy argument that this is directly because of the Titanfall bundle which is the same package plus a free copy of the hottest game to hit the platform. I'm at a loss for words for anyone who would be buying the basic SKU currently but, XB1 availability has been like this in my market (San Francisco) since January.
With regards to the PS4, I've seen exactly one at retail to date as it was being picked up from hold by the customer. I don't think this situation will last much longer, but clearly demand is exceeding current supply.
I predicted/guessed (a guess is a prediction made without having hard production numbers, distribution figures, etc.) that both the PS4 and the XB1 would be readily available by Q2 2014, meaning initial launch demand had been met. So that would give my guess until April to be on target, not that my guess means anything. As of right now, I'm giving that guess a 50/50 shot, but that would mean I should start seeing PS4s sporadically on shelves over the next few weeks.
