One that is told well. If you can't do that then keep the story light. IMO the worst videogame stories are the stories of alot of JRPGs, often their stories are pseudo-deep, filled with obvious plot twists, cliched characters and tons of videogame tropes. A story like that has to be told really well to be bearable for me.
