The only thing we know about Latte is that it's a custom Radeon HD chip, it has 32MB of eDRAM on die and it has a DX11 equivalent feature set. If you look at the die shot it bears absolutely no resemblance to any other single AMD chip in existence.
We also know that the ALUs are twice the size that they should be. There's over 50% of the silicone that's a complete mystery, and a great deal of that 40-odd percent is taken up by the eDRAM lol.
And it should also be noted that Expresso also has both read and write access to the 32MB of eDRAM cache as well as 3MB of its own cache.
Nobody (with any sense) is saying that the Wii U is comparable to the PS4 or One in terms of power, I'm of the opinion that it's somewhere between the PS3 and the One.
But really we can only judge by the games that we see released for it that have had some sort of effort put into them. So we're talking first and second party titles and third party titles such as Project CARS. It's going to be interesting to see how much difference there's going to be between the Wii U and PS4 SKUs of Project CARS.
