I simply find it more convenient. 2TB will be enough to last me the entire generation, it runs well at 135MB/sec and i don't need to worry about another portable HDD laying around (already have 2). Just my preference ^^

I personally just have a USB dock laying around and I can swap HDDs on the Wii U if things go bad, which hopefully I'll be able to use with the PS4 if I ever get one by then as it's a USB3 dock, easier than opening something up if the HDD dies for sure. I think the only thing Nintendo did better than MS and Sony so far is the idea of the OS running on the NAND and having the option of using external drives ATM, it really makes things easier and is less prone to malfunction if you think about it. Future consoles should just adept to this idea IMO.
