I'm happy about Wii U, simply because things can't get worse... In a good way. Even if the Wii U only sells a bit more than the Gamecube, it'll be remembered by being an underrated and undersold yet great console with some unique games and those things you named on this list. You know that situation where people in general is mean towards someone in particular yet that person is actually good, just misunderstood and you like him/her? Well, that's how I feel about Wii U.
