Mario Kart 8 releases May 30th. May aswell consider that June!

I suppose. Still, if you think MK8 will boost sales like it should then I'd expect Nintendo would want two boosts (one after MK8 effect starts dropping) to sustain momentum. But I guess you cant go wrong either way here (other than not dropping the price if MK8 does not having the expected effect).

Honestly, I think if they just release Mario Kart 8 as is, meaning no price cut, no bundle, then the boost is gonna be pretty short lived. They really needa atleast bundle MK8 in, as I feel the current bundle options are insufficient. You either have a game that was already on the market for a year prior to it's bundling that had a similar game release months prior (albeit on 3DS), or a game that was originally released like 10 years ago. They need a new, fresh, original game to be bundled in, and what better one than MK8! And sure they could save the price cut for later, but considering all the games they have coming in the second half of the year, it would really help them all sell. For sustaining momentum, games like Hyrule Warriors, X, Yoshi Yarn, Bayonetta 2, etc. should hopefully help with that up until SSB4 releases.
