This thread is idiotic... The only thing uncreative about Nintendo's franchises is that they use the same mascot characters in all of them. Beyond that, you won't find a more diverse and creative games which evolve and reinvent a series with every iteration.
So what if half of them take the mario name. The fact that mario was attached to a games name means that instead of a pathetic 4 million sales that something like "the Last of Us" achieved, it would get 10 million.
The only thing I don't like about Nintendo is that they don't buy up more development studios and that they don't branch out into more genres. I would love to see Nintendo make an MMO game.
