Gravity did not deserve best picture by far. It's an amazing tech demo and it deservedly got all the awards for visuals and sound. However nothing for screenplay, acting, or best picture. I'm glad he got an oscar for directing as he was owed that for Children of men.
I bought the blu-ray and enjoyed the spectacle (if you have a home theater, this is the movie to get), but the story was crap and the sequence of events impossible. The behind the scenes footage explaining all the tech used to create the visuals and sound was more interesting than the movie itself. Those 3 hours went by a lot faster than the 90 minute movie. This sums up the plot perfectly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xeKMS62GrTI
