Sony never paid a self publishing entity for their own games outside of Rockstar and that was timed exclusivity of GTA. Microsoft has....many times.During the 360 era Microsoft technically published Ninja Gaiden 2 and Mass Effect 1 & 2 on the 360 as well. Ninja Gaiden 2 was just paid to stay away from Sony, but that backfired in their face and they used the publishing money to make Sony's version of Ninja Gaiden Sigma. Microsoft kept Gears exclusive by literally publishing every single one of their Gears titles. Thats like Sony going up to Rockstar and saying. "We've got nothing...we'll pay for this titles development if you keep it exclusive". The Order is jointly made by Sony Santa Monica (I guess you didn't know). Unlike Microsoft, Sony works hand-in-hand in aiding development with their partners whom they don't own for years kind of like Sucker Punch. If the IP they've nursed along sells well with the company they've nurtured for so long, they eventually buy them because the company has lived up to the Sony standard. Microsoft should try it. Sony doesnt just buy random companies, they have a relationship worth years with them, raise them to develop games with a Sony-style and if they succeed the rest is history. Insomniac has never met the standard of Sony, so Sony would never offer, but they would still publish. Sony owns insomniacs IP's because they were in on the development of the majority of the Sony published games with them. LBP was also nurtured by Sony. I thought you would've known this by now. Sony gets creatively involved in the development of their games. First or second party developed, doesn't matter. Deep Down, by Capcom, will be co-developed by Sony japan...not published but co-developed. As I said, Sony and Microsoft work differently. Sony helps develop the major games that come to their console so it becomes somewhat of a Sony quality and Microsoft just publishes them. Big difference and major difference in the level of standards, which is why so many great exclusives come to Sony.

If you are going to compare Sonys relationship with second party developers it would be closer to Remedy, where theres years or invested time in that companies growth. Its almost time for Microsoft to buy Remedy themselves. Think about it.

I play the games boy. Who gives a damn how they work? You aasume people think about Epic's partnership with MS when they play Gears?

I hope MS buys more exclusives as successful as Gears and moneyhatt more devs into producing more Alan Wakes and Mass Effects.

If only you fanatics buy more new IPs to justify the risk cause only sucessful first party titles measured up to the hype are Uncharted and GT series.

The rest just get brushed under the rug after it comes out.

MS invested heavily in Arcade titles since 2010, but it was seen by you folks as abandonment of 360 because they weren't AAA games.

I never said  completely money hatting was a bad thing, but you tried to compare them to Sony as if Sony works the same way. They aren't the same. Unlike Sony and Nintendo MS needs to pay for games without really ever being involved. They have the best eye for 3rd party games but their first party game is dead weak, period.
