That's one way to see it.
From my perspective when the wii U launched.
Non nintendo guys: "It's selling horrible compared to the wii!"
Nintendo guys: "Wii was the fastest selling system ever. Compared to ps360 wii u is great"
Once Wii U really did start selling bad.
Nintendo guys: "Well at least it isn't as bad as Vita"
Sony guys: "Actually launched aligned and weekly Vita is ahead. We do agree that Vita is doomed though"
While 3DS is outselling PS4.
Nintendo guys: "3DS is dominating PS4. Nintendo is still winning the gen"
Sony guys: "PS4 is still limited by stock. Also 3DS is $130. Of course it's winning" (people saying this price thing were just being flat out silly)
Now.
Sony guys: "It's the return of the king. PS4 and 3DS really don't compare but now that we're winning we'll be sure to let Nintendo fans know"
Nintendo guys: "The whole console industry is doomed! Handhelds are forever though"
