This is EAs second hit against Call of Duty. The left hook is Battlefield, the right hook is Titanfall. Theyre trying hard to get chunks of that market away from Activision, and there is no doubt at all that if this was multiplat it would have been just as big (if not bigger). |
Interestingly enough Destiny doesn't seem to have the hype at all. Perhapse that's why they delayed it, again, because they didn't want to compete with TitanFall. It will probably be a fine game, but even No Man's Sky got more buzz.
Interesting point about ET getting a one two punch on Activsion. I think you have something there. Plus the Respawn guys are mostly ex Activision employees and the founders fired and sued Activision. I think it's really personal to them. But they are a small team.
One does lose something when you go multiplat. Exclusives, get more polish. Respawn is maknig the Xbox One/PC game. Which are very similar platforms. A seperate company is making the 360 version.
