The Buzz: Why is Nintendo afraid to do what they know they must do?

I've got a different take on what Nintendo NEEDS to do. Let's face it: if you're a Nintendo fan, you're:

A) Buying the majority of all Nintendo-brand games
B) Are perfectly alright with the same Nintendo game series being redone for over 25 years

And that's alright, if that's what you want/like, who is anyone to tell you differently? The thing is however, mainstream...doesn't wanna see Mario, Kirby, Donkey Kong anymore. Am I saying they need to STOP making those franchises? Nope, but...can you take a *little* bit of a break to make some NEW, non-platforming games?

I blame Iwata. They should've fired him when there were rumblings about it...
