What does Braid or Limbo do in terms of new gameplay?

You haven't played them if you have to ask that.

Limbo is one of my favorite games of last gen, I even speedrun it and I beat it in 45 minutes. And Braid is a pretty solid game, I got all the stars pieces without using a guide (I had to look for one though, the one where there's a cloud that moves ridiculously slow across the map).

So answer the question, what those games bring new to the table in terms of gameplay?
