They can go out and buy a Vita or something (Hey, even I have a Vita and a Move!) but it's still not the same has having the Trojan Horse packaged in the box. The reason the Wii games almost always had motion controls is because every Wii owner had them. Move was better than the Wii remote but it was stll an additional purchase and that still hurt its support. Even if they were available from the start, they still weren't packed in. Wii Fit/Guitar Hero/Rock band were great successes for a few years--and Kinect is arguably the most successful peripheral of all time. Still didn't get widespread support. The Wii Remote got support for the entire life of the console because it came with every console. |
Yes, but the situation is much better this time. Sony can react much faster to these trends because all tools/periphals for these games are already available from the start: PS4 Camera, PS Vita, Smartphone/Tablets and PS Move.
PS Move + Sports Champions would have been recepted much better, if Sony could have offered them within a year after the Wii Sports success... not 4 years after the Wii Sports hype.
