Call of Duty: Ghosts Onslaught map pack brings a "reimagined" MW2 Scrapyard to PC

Comment

It’s taken an extraordinarily long time for this, Ghosts’ very first map pack, to come around. T’was not so far Black Ops 2, which set new series records for DLC sales.

But if Infinity Ward have failed to match Treyarch’s speed, they’ve at least matched their capacity for synonyms for the word ‘attack’ - and for developing solid-sounding new multiplayer maps. Onslaught has five, and they’re available to download today.

Closed beta, open for business: Guild Wars 2 comes to China on March 11

Comment

Guild Wars 2 is totally set for launch in China. It’s got the optional pre-level 1 tutorial and hint system ArenaNet wanted for it, it’s got the same one-time-fee business model, and it’s got a local manager with a fantastic first name.

“Given the game's high quality and beautiful design, compared with free-to-play and time-based pay-to-play games, this business model has the highest chance to appeal to the broadest base of players in China,” said Atlantis Lai.

Ubisoft hits South Park with censorship stick, not PEGI

Comments3

South Park: The Stick of Truth has been hit by the censorship stick in the UK, Europe, Australia, parts of Asia, Africa and the Middle East. But according the the European Video Standards body, the folk behind PEGI, this has nothing to do with them.

GMG's ridiculous 2K sale will give you plenty to do this weekend

Comments1

Remember when we used to be able to give our wallets a rest between massive Steam sales? Yeah, that era is long behind us. Poor, battered wallets. Today, the pillager of our funds is Greenman Gaming, because it’s got a, frankly, absurd 2K deal going on until 16:00 UTC, March 3rd.

You can pick up the 2K Essentials Collection for a discount of over 70 percent, which also gives you 50 percent off other 2K titles and four free games. Lunacy.

State of Decay: Lifeline makes you enlist in the army

Comment

State of Decay, Undead Labs’ zombie survival sim, is getting another slice of DLC in the form of Lifeline. Last time, it was a sandbox mode, but the developer is going back to the slightly more story and character-driven experience from the core game. There's a key difference, though: you’re in the army now.

This key difference informs a lot of things that could make this DLC standout from the original game. Instead of starting with nothing and growing into a burgeoning post-apocalyptic society, Lifeline is about losing everything and learning to improvise to survive.

Disney Infinity on PC now has Play Set mode; full Play Set bundle only costs £49.95

Comment

Disney Infinity, Disney’s attempt to cash in on the Skylanders craze, has just been expanded on PC. Until now, PC users only had access to a free Toy Box mode and it functioned like the iPad app. To use the premium characters and their content, you had to utilise a web code that came with ones purchased for consoles.

Now, the Play Set mode can be accessed, and PC players can purchase and download content previously exclusive to consoles for a fraction of the price. You won’t have the physical toys but all the in-game stuff is available.

Comment

Steam Family Sharing is now live for all Steam users, Valve has announced. So now everyone can share their library with whomever they want. All users on the same account can earn their own achievements and save their game progress to the Steam cloud.

You can set up sharing now by authorising it on shared computers, but there are some caveats. Aren’t there always?
