1. That percentage thats been hovering around was generated Macroaxis. Which is basically a financially engineering tool website which is pretty much just a robot that generates predicitions based off company history. This pretty much throws all credibility through the window.

Macroaxis is a 'trustworthy" tool and used by many people.  It is definitely credible.

2. Those predictions were made with impression that Sony would keep their PC and TV divisions which they axed. They were also the only unprofitable sectors, every other division makes big profit. Even Kaz's vision of Sony didn't include them which means he knew they were beyond saving.

Sony is not axing the TV division, theyre restructuring it.

3. Sony is overemployed with 160,000 employees and has assets scattered everywhere. If they so desired then they could just simply sell off what isn't necessary.

Idk how many people work at other companies so no comment.

4. The gaming division is the best it's ever been and even broke their records form the PS2 days, not to mention PS Now. They'll easily generate billions here.

The gaming division can not and will not keep a company as big as sony alive. They will need to rely on multiple division like their banking, mobile, movies, etc along with gaming. It would be like asking MSFT to survive off Xbox alone, not going to happen.  As for PS Now, that could go either way.

Thoughts?

I dont believe you know what youre talking about.  Whatever does happen, sony is going to try with all their power to keep Sony alive.  I believe theyll be fine but yes they need to make changes. Removing Vaio was a good start and hopefully their restructure for the TV division will help as well as someone else mentioned, it has been their pillar.

Regardless of who trusts them or not it makes predictions based off if a company strictly follows the path that they're heading in.

They're selling the viao brand and downsizing their TV a lot to avoid loss. Call it what ever you want.

Well there you go. They have a lot of employees and assests they don't particularly need.

I'm pretty the gaming division could generate billions. They're selling consoles as fast as they can make them and they're making profit off each one, games are selling way better than they should during any lauch period, and add that to the money they'll make off PS+ now that it's mandetory for multiplayer (XBL makes hundreds of millions annually). This doesn't even include PS Now which stretches beyond consoles to TVs and mobile devices. I didn't say it can solely carry such a huge company but it could compensate for slacking divisions.

I'm pretty sure I know what i'm talking about. :P
