I don't think they ever actually said 1080p, I think they just said 60 FPS.

I get the feeling that Halo 2 Anniversary this year will be 1080p 60 fps. I'm sure they could pull off graphics that are a notch above Halo 4 at 1080p 60 fps.

As for Halo 5 in 2015, I feel like 343's going to want it to be a real graphical knockout like Ryse, so it'll probably be 900p 60 fps, so they can use the resources they save from not going 1080p on other things.

While I would prefer 1080P, I really doubt it looks that much different at 900P as long as they have good anti aliasing.  It’s separate chip which formats the video signal for the screen and they just changed the filter.  So hopefully it doesn't give you much screen door (or whatever that distortion is called.)

Here it is if anyone is curious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5m7D5OsKAY&t=1h19m43s

Yeah the update they just pushed out really makes things look better. There's hardly any distortion now, just some slight blur and aliasing due to the lower resolution. Even in 720p Halo 5 would look great since resolution is such a small part of graphics.

I can easily see the difference between a 900p and 1080p game, but all this resolution talk as of late has been getting on my nerves. People have started acting like resolution and framerate=graphics which is causing both camps to say crazy stuff.
