They make great simulators.....many reviewers and sim experts can attest to that. But simulation involves driving so you aren't exactly wrong. They also made 343 from the ground up composed of talent from various top studios/ex Bungie staff. How can you speak of lacking creativity when they are making in-house Project Spark? Epic wants to do something different. Nuff said. Gears was a 90+ franchise that was bigger then freaking Uncharted last gen......so saying bigger and better is highly debatable. Different is more the operative term as Epic simply wants to move on creatively. And as we keep going back to the same point.....whether MS secures new IP's in-house or via contracts to keep it off PS4.......it is the exact same end-result for the gamer. Ryse, Max: The Curse of Brotherhood, Titanfall, Quantum Break, Project Spark, Cobalt, Sunset Overdrive, Fantasia: Music Evolved, D4, timed exclusivity of PVZ: GW, Below. All while beefing up the effort and talent into Halo, Fable, Forza, and Gears......the holy quad of the Xbox lineup ;P. Kinect Sports too. MS is certainly trying and succeeding to give both new and old IPs, beefing up their staff (unproven or not), with variety in genre to boot. |
I fail to see how Microsoft is succeeding at creating new IP. Securing them...yes, but that was never my argument. I've already attested that Microsoft is the best at securing IP's because they lack the ability to create them on par with their competition. Its not a problem as I said because Gears is the main franchise I bought the 360 for. I was just saying, because Microsoft seems to put stock into affiliating themselves with Sony workers. Sony never seems to share the sentiment even though they respect Microsoft as a business.
