in games maybe even though I could argue that MS has been in the VG business just as much as Sony and did some of the most renouned IP in the market in their niche back then with titles like flight simulator, age of empire, close combat, the madness saga etc.... and beside that MS is with google, apple, IBM the company hireing the best developpers in the world for the past 40 years almost... granted not for games mostly
not saying SSM is a bad studio by any means but you don't get a job at MS like you do at walgreens.... even in their VG studios...  so if they got fired because they sucked chances are they won't get past the first interview... if they get to that point...

Point being...MS is only extending their hand to the top studios and the word is that Gears of War hasnt even started its development but is rather only in talks right now, so I am sure its for that. Irrational studios and SSM are two of the top studios in gaming, period. They have been filling Black Tusk with allstar workers and yet we still see no new IP after what? Two years? They have more studios. Just keep paying for new staff. I know its for Gears. Their level for creativity isnt that high, but at this point I can tell that they want this Gears game to be the holy grail if they are taking from Irrational and Sony. Those two companies with staff in one place is murder to your competition.

Showing me all the great simulation and racer titles MS was involved with doesnt prove anything to me. I already know they are great at business. I've been playing Flight Simulator since I was pretty young. That has nothing to do with creativity and no...Forza and Gran Turismo say absolutely nothing about creativity.. If MS is perfect at one thing in gaming its publishing simulations. After their third gen they are still only good at the same things.Experimentation isnt very big on their list, but I am glad that if they are afraid of creativity that they are sticking with the devil the do know. Gears is my favorite franchise on Microsoft and Halo started to grow bland for me after Reach. After the reception for Killer Instinct one would've thought MS would buy Double Helix but Amazon got them. I am sure once some workers get laid off there, MS will take up the table scraps as well. They are good at it.

They own Turn 10, cmon your better then that. Unless you are referring to Flight Simulator or something I think its petty to ignore the pedigree of Forza (at least in the 360 gen). No mention for Halo? The top exclusive FPS among the big 3 by a looooong shot?

"MS will take up the table scraps as well"

Is that how you honestly view that? Keeping talented people employed and acquiring staff to make games, something you ALWAYS criticize MS for not doing.......I mean there is just no pleasing you. Even something like MS hiring from Irrational and Sony SM you find a way to shit on MS.

They created Turn 10. Its the only company MS created that has top level status in development. They make great racers. I didnt enjoy them as much as Project Gotham, but hey what can one do?  I said that I like that MS is making an Allstar staff. If they lack creativity and wont put out new IP's might as well stick with the devil they do know which i focusing on popular IP's that they do have. Everyone knew Microsoft was purely dependent on Epic to keep making Gears games for them because they couldnt put out a hot IP themselves. Eventually the time came to buy Gears because Epic wasnt about to waste their time. Epic is a creative company and wants to move on to bigger and better things. Microsoft wants to hold them down because when it comes to being creative they are very dependent on outside studios to think for them. At least they got two great studios workers to help them work on a big title. That big title just so happens to be my favorite Xbox game period.
