yeah, agreed. i upgraded my gaming TV from 40" to 46" when the living room tv died. was only about $600 cause i went for the model without all that smartTV crap i'll never use since i have a game console hooked up.
i doubt i'll ever go bigger than 46" though, i just don't have the wall space for it.
i've been saying for a while now that sony and the rest need to make a mindset transition. tvs are no longer the premium product they once were. all the money spend on making bigger and bigger tvs is wasted as there will never be a big audience for 100" tvs. 4k is probably a waste too as maybe only a 1/4 of the market will be in the +50" size range for which 4k becomes meaningful.
