The actors who play spider-man age, meaning if they don't want a teenage Spider-man to look in his late 20s by a third film then having to 'reboot' every now and then, this might be the best way.
But it could be Spider-man 'universe' films... this there isn't really.
Eitherway, anything to keep it in their control. At least it's not like X-men franchsie films which have basicly been insulting me for 15 years.
