People keep talking about Sony as a whole not making money when all we should really be talking about it the game division, I don't care if they aren't selling TV's or laptops I care about there Console sector which is kicking ass atm. But people would rather look at the negitive because they don't like Sony having a bit of success.

whatever happens to the company as a whole effects the gaming division. they lose as a company so it effects all of it not just parts

PS4 alone can't save Sony and if they don't stop bleeding then there won't be no more playstation at all

Sony is already started restructure plan and this is why there are firing people to downsize the workforce to bring them to profits.

Among these, the loss making businesses for the past decade are TV, PC , Mobiles(until last year) and Playstation 3(until 2011). Now, they have sold the PC busineess, made the TV business to subsection under sony(so they can bring cost down by downsizing R&d and monitoring independently in future instead of whole), Mobiles have turned into profits from last year and Playstaion also doing great from 2011. Their Movies and Music business are breaking even with some profits often and Financial servicesa are mostly profitable for them. And the camera sensors of their are also giving them profits.

So, the current restructure plan from kaz hirai is doing all these layoffs, selling things and some close downs to get them to normal as quickly as possible and it will be by next year considering the business core right now. So, Playstation,  Mobiles and their Movies & Music which are going to be integrated into their Playstaion and Mobile very much soon are the future for Sony profits and it will save them.
