I haven't played the original since I got it for the Wii and the other two since the SNES. I don't think this one is a weak link, though. The way many levels begin one way and end up another or the way it constantly throws something new at you are huge plusses to me.
I'm only on level 4, I think--and I skipped a few levels to get there. Can't argue with the review, though. You made your points and made it clear what you had issue with. My mom says we can't be friends, though. Sorry.
