Got mine on 25th March 2011, so at launch. I bought it on 23rd March off of Amazon.de for 220€ incl. a game.
I don't regret doing so, even after the price drop. My DSi broke some months before and I was looking to replace it, which meant that my 3DS was used for DS games in its first months. Also, buying it before the price drop resulted in me getting the ambassador games, which included Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones, the game that made me discover the FE series, which is now my favourite game series.
Thinking about it, the 3DS is the reason I own so many gaming systems today. Because of the 3DS I bought Fire Emblem games, because of the Fire Emblem games, I bought a Famicom and a Super Famicom, which eventually resulted in my passion for collecting games and gaming systems.
Well, anyway, I'm rambling on. Thanks for three amazing years, 3DS!
