According to their quarterly report, Nintendo sold 14.29 million Wii's between April and December which amounts to an average of 1.59 million per month.
They didn't actually ramp up to 1.8 million per month til the summer, so I don't know why anyone would argue they are producing anything less than 1.8 million per month now. By law they have to print accurate numbers in their fiscal reports.
