1. There is no confirmation that he wanted to do this.
2. Microsoft would not put him in charge without an understanding of what his road map for the Xbox Division (and other divisions he is over).
3. He is not the CEO so he couldn't do a damn thing anyways.
4. If all this is true the rumor was he would consider it. Not that he would do it.
