Freeper of Souls: Diablo III patch 2.0.1 rolls out today, and Loot 2.0 with it
CommentHollywood teaches us that the sea retreats from the shore right before the biggest wave hits, as if Poseidon himself is gearing up for a really snotty sneeze. Today, Blizzard are breathing in. They’ve recalled their closed beta for next month’s Reaper of Souls expansion and pulled down the Public Test Realm for its imminent, accompanying patch: 2.0.1.
Three nights only: final qualifiers for $250k crowdfunded Counter-Strike: Global Offensive tournament
CommentWe are rapidly gaining on EMS One, the Counter-Strike tournament hosted in Katowice, Poland - best pronounced as a TV Batman “KATOW!”, followed by a cool-as-you-like “-ice”. It’s especially notable this year, not only because Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player numbers are on the rise, but because its sizeable prize pool has been composed entirely from the contents of the holey pockets of those very same players.
The main event is a couple of weeks away still - but six of its 16 team slots have yet to be filled. That’s what this evening’s European qualifiers are all about.
Party up like Charlie Sheen: Battlefield 4 'Platoons' feature will allow pre-game grouping
Comment“Right, men. Whatever happens, we stick together.”
Those were the last words I heard our Tim say before the PCGN we-don’t-need-a-parachute regiment sallied forth into the Titanfall beta last week. I watched haplessly as a perk-boosted Nick sprinted off into the undergrowth, and only caught fleeting glimpses of my colleagues thereafter.
The same won’t happen for much longer in Battlefield 4, at least. Players will soon be able to join up with other players before joining a match, rather than during.

Deus Ex: The Fall PC edition heads to Steam
Following last year’s release on mobile devices, we’re really happy to now announce that Deus Ex: The Fall is coming to Steam on March 25.
The game’s been adapted for the PC, meaning (of course) full keyboard/mouse controls, but also a whole bunch of other little bits too - so if you didn’t fancy dipping into Ben Saxon’s story previously, now would be an eminently sensible time to reconsider. After all, the game was produced with the original creative team from the superb Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and there's the small matter of new tracks penned by none other than Michael McCann...
The Steam version will sell for £7.99/€9.99/$9.99, but if you pre-order the game now (or grab it for a limited time after launch) you’ll also get the original Deus Ex – Game of the Year Edition as well, for free... and if you’ve already have DE:GOTY, you’ll be able to gift it to somebody else instead!
So what’s on the complete feature list, compared to last year's mobile version of the game?
- No in-game purchase options
- 28 Steam achievements
- Adjusted AI
- Steam Trading Cards, Badges and (TBC)
- Revised tutorial
- Full keyboard and Mouse control optimisation
- Rebalanced game economy taking into account no IAP
- Microsoft Controller support
- Removal of auto target options
- Reduction in aiming recital size
- Choice in cover style as DXHR (HOLD or Toggle)
- Resolution options
- Anti Aliasing option
- Vsync
- Control maps for keyboard and gamepad
So while Eidos-Montreal continues to work on the hugely exciting plans for Deus Ex Universe and a full-on, triple-A Deus Ex game, you should definitely jump into Deus Ex: The Fall while you wait…
