I think that will be true globally. PS4 won't outsell PS3 by much, if at all. Partly because generation 8 won't be as long as 7, and partly because there will be negative over all growth in console sales. For the Japan situation is will be in the Loooong run. PS3 took until 17 Dec 2006 to get to 320K in Japan (5 weeks). So PS3 will have a lot of catching up to do. I suspect PS4 will stay ahead of PS3 pace in Japan for a couple of years.
