I did a similar comparison with Crysis 2: 720p, 900p, 1080p
Also last gen. The more detailed a game gets the bigger the difference between upscaled softness and native resolution.
For example a simple comparison with a KZ SF screenshot, cropped to 426x720 than reduced to 720p, 900p and upscaled again>

Killzone would benefit from higher than 1080p resolution. (And facebook upload didn't help, better screenshot upload please sony)
