I can tell you this: Native resolution always looks best on modern LCD and OLED screens. You can clearly see how everything is just a lot crispier than upscaled. But you need to know yourself if it matters for you or not. It's kinda of a personal thing. The scaling on plasma TVs is a lot better so you'll notice less when looking at non-native material. But who is still using Plasma, really? :P

For me personal, resolution does matter. I really enjoy Full HD games, movies and images. But if it isn't Full HD, it doesn't ruin a game for me. Hell, I'm still playing PS3 and enjoying it like there's no tomorrow. But if I had a choice? I'd take higher resolution any day.

It's really only important is you happen to have both consoles. Then you will naturally go for PS4 multiplats. For everyone else though, they just get the game for the console they have. It may be a little prettier on PS4, but it's nothing that makes the game unplayable or something. But in the end, if you're not into MS exclusives, the PS4 is no doubt the system to go this gen hands down.

Just my 2 cents.
