@Bold: Yes.  This is one of the points I think some people don't understand.  If a creator of a piece of work says it's not "art," it doesn't suddenly become "not art."  Many times, we disregard the thoughts of the original creator when analyzing these things.  That's kind of what they teach in Literature classes.

@Italics:  Another point I was trying to make.  Some try to define art as something that must be observed.  Reading something is not observing.  Listening to something is not observing.  If we make these limitations on art, we have to take away a lot of things that have already become established as art forms.
