No, it is being a dick because some people are on an anti-mp crusade. And the other problem with this mentallity it's been many times that a game doesn't lose quality when multiplayer is added. The only game I can think of is Bioshock 2, and I think that might be more because ken levine wasn't involved with it than anything.

I don't think it's usually an anti-MP crusade when people express their happiness about a dev's decision to omit MP in favor of SP. I've generally perceived it as happiness for the focus on SP instead of tacking on a MP mode just for the sake of having MP for whatever reasons, and I don't see there anything wrong with that. I don't think it's that much different from being unhappy about unnecessary/useless features being added to consoles. Sometimes it's unnecessary, sometimes not, as some features only cost to develop while some features also cost to implement.

You just keep saying the same thing, and never adress any of my counter-arguments. I'm assuming all you can say at this point is tacked on multiplayer. Can you give me an example of a game that turned crappy because of multiplayer being added?

Can you read? Did you ever read it when I said people might simply not like the competitive aspect of MP that's present even in many co-op MP games. And if you want more reasons, I imagine some people simply don't enjoy interacting with others in games, for whatever reasons (for example, because people always find ways to make stuff annoying). Maybe to some people MP modes don't offer a deep enough experience. Lag is an issue in MP, and MP can be more glitcy than SP quite easily. I provided you with arguments even before, now I provided you with a ton more. No saying I didn't give you arguments.

And once more, can you read? I didn't say games become bad when multiplayer gets added. I just specifically clarified that part which you obviously got wrong once already and I'm not going to do it again if you can't bother to read anyway.

I've provided you with arguments that explain why people might not like MP - at all, even. I've also provided you with a reason why people might be happy when a game doesn't get MP, explaining why it's not just being a dick. For all I know, there's no telling how much better a SP mode could have been if all the resources had been focused on it instead of giving some of them to MP.
