impossible. Everything's been said.

Take for example Ocarina of time, which is often seen as the 'best' game ever created. Well, back then it MIGHT have been the best game, but every other game releasing the next gen, or last gen, or this gen, practically outshines it in almost all means possible.

For example: Graphically talking Twilight princess was better. Story telling goes to the Uncharted Series or The Last of Us for instance.

BUT in 15 years, even those masterpieces will look outdated compared to games, that are releasing then.

So it's pretty much impossible to get 'the perfect' game.

I disagree with this to a point. I agree that graphics will always move forward......until we reach photorealism. There 100's of better storytelling games than UC/TLOU that have come out in years before these games came out. To this day certain generes have hit a wall. The FPS in large hasent changed in 10 years. Little adjustments like RPG elements, large multiplayer and even changing the generes objective(Portal and its ilk) are all we have seen since the first full 3D FPS. We will hit the wall with TPS and every other genre in respect to gameplay. Even this past gen was full of tired revisits to generes of generations past, no better than what was happening during the PS2 era, with prettier graphics.

OT:We wont see a widly agreed upon best game ever; ever.

I agree with the point, that we are slowly running into a wall with almost all genres (almost no innovations anymore) but my point is that, there is going to be better hardware, more resources etc. and thus developers will be able to make larger worlds, more detailed graphics, better physics and so on.

That's my point. Even though there is nothing revolutionary about these games, they are still 'better' (maybe not by Meta or anything, but you get the idea.)

Btw. UC/TLOU were just examples that came to my mind first
