Everything went exactly as follows:
1. 2DS released in Japan within the next few months.
2. In 2015, the 3DSi and 3DSi XL are released, both at a low price point. At the time of their release, the current three models all receive a price cut. These new models will be like what the DSi was to the DS. It will include some new features, but is not a next generation system. 3DSi sales will be counted under 3DS sales.
3. A constant supply of new and good games. Nothing as big as 2013, but the number of new releases will not fall off of a cliff until the next gen handheld is near.
4. The ninth generation handheld is not released until mid 2017 the earliest.
So how much do you think the 3DS will sell global lifetime if this scenario plays out?
Please do not discuss the likelihood of this scenario, or at the very least don't focus on it. The purpose of this thread is to discuss how many units will be sold in this scenario, and how great of an effect certain factors have.
