I think they didn't have gamers or someone that knows gamers in the board.
Acquisition of SEGA was on the table in early 2000 and they didn't go forward with it. I hope they don't commit the same mistake with Remedy because Ubisoft and 2k got a lot of money this last gen and I'm sure they'll make some acquisitions.
Mass Effect series would probably be like the 1rst one with a better game mechanics. A lot of space opera and open world with optimized shooting mechanic of ME2.

If Microsoft didn't know what was cool, they wouldn't have acquired exclusivity of said titles. They aren't really that good at making games. Their best asset is their eye for games they haven't made at all. Halo, Gears, Titanfall, Rare titles (and others) are a legacy which shows Microsofts strengths. Its self evident they are better at picking and choosing from other peoples product than their own.

Hum...You're basically saying they are useless ... They have to learn how to make their own exclusive games without buying them to be useful to gamers and to get a real and proper legacy.
This is why i agree with the man who said industry is better with sony domination, it will prevent microsoft to buy 3rd party games and force them to create their own games so it will bring more games and variety to the industry.
