Other than simply not being a huge casual craze, I think the main problems Wii U has are a combination games/price/advertising. 2013 was barren of Nintendo games until the last quarter which saw a few high quality releases and the first half of this year only has 2. $299 is simply to high for Wii U to sell well with its current software output. Also they havent really had much advertising outside of launch and during the holidays.
Price it at $199, have 2 solid exclusives per quarter, and advertise consistantly throughout the year. Do these 3 things and I think Wii U will sell much better. It wont dominate or anything like that but it could push it to GC/N64 levels which it currently is trailing behind by a significant margin.
