What a laugher this one is....

I doubt many could disagree with the fact that the PS4 is selling about as good as anyone could have hoped for. I think that if anyone thought they would have over 4.5 million by now, that would be great. Let alone nearly 5.5 million.

I also would think that M$ was hoping to sell better than they have, but are not disappointed that they have 3 and a half million out the door. I am sure they were hoping for 4 million plus by now.

We don't know all of the facts behind the launch for M$. They may have known that with limiting the launch countries and gimping the system with an unfinished OS, it would slow the sales a bit. Maybe they are at or above what their projections were. We are all looking at how good the PS4 is selling and acting like the XB1 is selling bad. I think the system had a good launch. I think the little things that weren't ready before are what is holding them back now. It also doesn't help that they price is bad, but if they had all of the other things fixed, this wouldn't be such an issue.

I agree with others, that it is common to work out deals with retailers to give incentives to help a system sell better. They obviously want their retail partners to sell more and get the stock out the door. A real price drop will happen in July to the $449 price. That will allow them to continue with these same type of promotions and get the price closer to the PS4 in the second half of the year.

It is near the end of the end....
