Sorry, Kinect is and remains a peripheral. When it comes to computers for example, even keyboards, mice and monitors are considered peripherals, even though most computers are designed to use these devices and most computers ship with mouse and keyboard included. And even though some fucked up operating systems actually treat these devices as being mandatory for using the computer. They're still peripherals, and I seriously wonder why you have such a problem with accepting that word. In my opinion, there's nothing negative about that word. |
You seriously wonder why I have such a problem accepting that word???
Alright, fair being fair, than you have to agree with me wondering why you can't accept that it's not a peripheral.
Right?
I'm just as entitled to question your perception as you are mine... but here's the difference:
The entire system; the UI in general, was designed to use the Kinect as an alternative controller, it comes packed with every box, considering those facts the Kinect is NOT a peripheral but a secondary type controller that Microsoft chose to develop and include.
Peripherals as we actually define them are additional I/O devices that are purchased seperately and perform specific functions for the system.
Xenostar wants to tell me about what's black and white, but as is the case with most every post in these forums, including my own, is that he's describing for me how 'he' sees things in black and white.. as are you.. and as am I.
You guys can continue to look at the Kinect for Xbox One as a peripheral, but I think the evidence that it isn't is more on my side of the court.
It's made to be an intergral part of the system, that can't be argued, is include with every Xbox One sold, that can't be argued.
Those two facts alone completely negate any disagreement about whether or not it's a peripheral.
