480×272...I'm pretty sure that's less than 480i, meaning it's less than SD tv resolutions...So basically, yes, you can watch movies on the PSP, and no, it's not pretty.
on a pixel per pixel basis it looks amazing. The highest the video can go is also the max resolution of the screen. Make your judgement based off of UMD movies. Watch spiderman 2, or advent children and be amazed.
