Are you talking about Kickstarter? because after a Google search it says they pledged $2.1 million

Edit: I'm looking at the Kickstarter page and it says $2.1 million, the stretch goals however show the $6 million mark was made.

Sucessful kickstarter campaigns dont necessarily end on the 30 days of the kickstarter website.

Go to the star citizen website and you can donate even today. Or was your whole theory limited to the 30 days or kickstarter? :p

Star citizen is the first game that can be considered AAA to be funded by a kickstarter.

Yeah I checked the wikipedia page and it does indeed says $38 million have been donated. So I guess funding FF VII remake is a possibility, although Star Citizen has been recollecting money for almost 2 years.

However if FF XV has been development like what...4 years now? I can't imagine how long FF VII remake would take if it gets crowd-founded like Star Citizen

Hehe... not very different than what square usually take. But i agree, a crowd funded FFVII isnt ideal. Square just needs to want to make it. Wether its good or crap, it should sell sensationally well.
