It can be exciting just to see the tech improvements on new hardware, whilst having zero interest in a specific title that showcases it. Good gameplay exists and we'll see it again, for now it's early days and many are intrigued by the level of visual fidelity we can come to expect for years to come. I'm interested in this title, so gameplay will be very important to me, but at this stage I just want to see shiny beautiful mustaches and fabric that moves realistically in HD, with boat loads of effects.
Winback: Covert Operations (or Operation Winback as it was called in Europe) was atrocious, but it had a strange appeal to it. You mentioning it brings back some fun memories.
