I think they said that they were having trouble with that issue in the 3ds version only, which is why it might come out later than the wii u version.
That comment solidified the fact that the Ice Climbers were coming back until Rosalina was revealed, because she has similar "double" character mechanics. However, I am stiil confident that the Ice Climbers will return, they are an extremely unique character that represent their own franchise and have been around since Melee.
Put me on team yes.
