It could be the one thing to push sales in the right direction. Unfortunately Iwata confirmed to investors that the Gamepad is the company's primary focus. It's unfortunate that they're putting all of their effort into literally the last place they should.
If they added a sku that took away the Gamepad and substituted the Pro Controller for $199, I would make the purchase in a heartbeat. And I know a heck of a lot of others would do it as well. But they're so stubborn and simply will not listen to what people want. It will be the downfall of them this generation when Wii U sells less than Gamecube making it their biggest console failure ever.
