So how long do you think they'll last until Sony discontinues them. Considering PS2 lasted almost 13 years and PS3 is still going strong after more than 7 years makes me believe it can go just as long as the PS2. I think it will still be supported and receive some multiplats and indies in the future. So I will go for PS3 lasting until 2020. Yeah, and price cuts should make the PS3 somewhat more attractive to a casual in the future.

For the Vita, even as bad as a condition it is in, I think its legs are what will take it so far. It already establishing itself as the most powerful handheld gaming console to date makes it relevant even when a new console is released. PSP demonstrates this since DS has now become irrelevant. DS has lasted for about 9 years and will probably be gone by its 10th year, while PSP looks to end on its 11th or 12th. Vita is only on its 3rd year, and I think it will last beyond 2020. Japanese support is picking up, and Europe is more or less ok. US it might pick up with a system seller that might make it in its lifetime. I think Vita will survive as the PS4's companion. I don't think Sony will make another handheld console again. They will have already realized that they cannot sell better than what the PSP has done in terms of dedicated handheld gaming.
